How we handle your data on this website and in its sign-up form.
The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the Technical University of Munich (Technische Universität München), Arcisstraße 21, 80333 München, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Thomas F. Hofmann · +49 89 289-01 · poststelle@tum.de.
This website and the programme are run by the Chair of N-Dimensional User Experience (Prof. Johanna Pirker). For anything about your data, write to the project team: kanjilearning.games@cit.tum.de.
TUM's data protection officer: Datenschutzbeauftragte/r der Technischen Universität München, Arcisstraße 21, 80333 München · +49 89 289-17052 · beauftragter@datenschutz.tum.de.
This website and its sign-up form, for phase 1 of the programme (until April 2027): the co-design workshop, the Radical friends programme and email updates. Anything recorded during the workshop itself (notes, photos, audio) is covered by a separate consent form you get at the session.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(e) GDPR with Art. 4(1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG).
We store your answers (how the statements describe you, what you bring and hope to take away, which sessions you can attend, how you would like to take part in Radical friends, which updates you want), your email address if you give one, and when you submitted the form together with the version of the form and of this notice. Your email address is stored separately from your answers. To organise things, the team may add internal labels to your contact (for example the session you chose) and record which emails we sent you.
To plan the workshop and put together a balanced group, and to contact you about what you ticked: workshop logistics, meetings or playtests, or the updates you chose. Nothing else, and no advertising.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by sending the form. Filling in the form is voluntary. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing kanjilearning.games@cit.tum.de; we then delete your data.
Only the project team at the Chair processes your data. It is not passed on and does not leave the EU. Emails are sent through TUM's mail system.
Until 30 April 2027 at the latest, including backups; earlier if you ask. If we would like to stay in touch beyond phase 1, we will ask you again.
You can ask for access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR), have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), restrict its processing (Art. 18), receive it in a common format (Art. 20) and object to processing under Art. 6(1)(e) (Art. 21). An email is enough. You can also complain to the supervisory authority: Der Bayerische Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz, Wagmüllerstraße 18, 80538 München · +49 89 212672-0 · poststelle@datenschutz-bayern.de. We do not use automated decision-making.
This is version 2026-10-30. New versions are published here; the form records which version you agreed to.
